Shades of Blue.

Whoop! Finally! I’m featuring one of my top favorite occasional-maxi dresses. I’ve had this dress for almost two years now and it’s been sitting a little pretty in my wardrobe all along. Howwwww? What a shame. Ha! But…no regrets trust me.

The wedding season is coming up as well as the birthday season (particularly for me). Most of my close friends and family have their birthdays from August up to the end of the year and this dress will probably come in handy. Secondly, weddings or rather wedding. My best friend is getting married and I’m so excited for her! I mean from finally meeting Mr Right and now they are exchanging their vows in December! Wow!

Would I rock this dress for the evening party? Absolutely! But well, you know how a ladies mind is never 100% made up when it comes to outfits meaning things are bound to change between now and December?

The dress also comes in a different color which I’ll feature soon on my blog. I’m not very sure now if I love the blue more or the maroon version of it. Thing is, the both colors are very versatile and easy to pair with anything be it shoes, earrings, make-up etc.

To complete the look, I went with a very minimal make-up look and a really deep and almost nude eye-shadow and a bright lippie to break the clutter. I then paired the whole outfit look with t-bar heels and a pair of pearl earrings to achieve a classy-simple-sexy look.

Thanks for reading! J

What I Wore:

Blue-Thigh High dress from Your-African Closet.

T-bar Court Heels from Bata Kenya

Pearl Earrings from a vendor in the CBD

Make-Up Deets:

Mac Matchmaster foundation mixed 7 &8 to blend with my skin-tone. I particularly loved how it felt on my face, very light almost like I never had make-up on. It’d categorize it as a very light-weight foundation. Above all, It has SPF! It’s a whole package! πŸ™‚

Lipstick: Sleek Matte Me in Fandango Purple. To be honest guys, this is more of a pink. Its nothing close to purple but I love it! I mixed the lippie with Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lippie in the shade 483 to make it look and feel a little soft and glossy. As you all know, Matte Lipsticks can be a bit drying on the lips.

Eye Shadow: Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette
