Grecian Diaries Part 2: Chasing Santorini Sunsets.

“Sunsets are a proof that no matter what happens, every day can end beautifully.”  Kristen Butler. True story! Probably one of my favorite sunsets quotes. I can bet I have used the same quote on almost any sunset picture I have shared on any of my social media profiles.

Sunsets are very popular in Santorini, guys travel thousands of miles to watch them. I remember before we arrived in Santorini, our flight had been cancelled several times cause of the bad winds and no flight was operating at the time. You should have seen our faces, sunk in depression and trying to wrap our heads around the fact that we weren’t going to visit Santorini which happens the most beautiful Island in Greece!   Personally, I was depressed! Come on, wouldn’t you? But God….He came through…. 😉

Santorini’s architecture is stunning and it got me a little curious and wanted to understand in depth how these “rock-homes” came to be. You can read the whole story here.

Anyway, we got to Santorini safe and sound and checked in at our hotel in Fira , Santorini’s capital which was absolutely stunning and later left to watch the sunset at Oia. Interestingly, in Oia, the sunset wasn’t as amazing or maybe I was a little impatient, as it was in Fira. If you get a hotel with an amazing balcony overlooking the Aegean Sea you will most likely get the best sunset view ever in Fira! Plus Oia was a little crowded, obviously. You know you want to get the best shots without having to capture everyone in it and also live in the moment and take it all in.

Took this sunset photos at our hotel (Aroma Suites) balcony in Fira.
