Howdy howdy! Isn’t it crazy that the year is almost coming to a close? I still can’t wrap my head around this fact cause that year has flown whaaatttt. It’s just the other day we we’re sending new year messages and making resolutions and setting our goals for 2017. Damn! Amazing things have happened this year I must say but also came a few challenges like loosing a loved one and experiencing the most craziest ridiculous encounters EVER. But that’s what life is about. It can’t always be perfect. Actually it’ll never be perfect. Sigh!
I’ve ditched them heels, body con dresses and gowns for a minute until this weather decides to behave. 🙁 One day is hot one day it’s cold. This is basically how I’ve been dressing up the last couple of months given how the weather has been so brutal on us. I’ve never been a fan of casual wear but I think the cold weather has made me appreciate cool hoodies, sneakers and denim even more. Half the time I’ve been showing up at the office dressed like an eskimo with NO makeup on. My!
The other day I was having a very raw and honest conversation with one of my friends. I was telling her how I have come to realize that I hold a very high expectation of people in my life, almost as though people ‘owe’ me. I imagine that since I have been there for them, then they should be there for me. Or since I have invested in a friendship or a relationship then it ought to last for ever. But the harsh reality that has finally dawned on me is that I am entitled to nothing.
Mamamia, this weather though! Eishhhh! Is this where we now pack my bags and go to Canaan? And wait, I’m the only one who wasn’t getting this joke? Haha...Well, that aside, I think I’ve talked versatility before and there is nothing as comforting as having different pieces in your wardrobe that you can switch up every now and then to achieve a different look.
It’s been a week since the Annual OLX SoMA awards event was held and I’ve taken a step back the last few days to just sit and think about the whole experience, what I’ve learned so far in regards to blogging and with that said, I have a few tips to share with you. If you are an aspiring blogger out there who is perhaps wondering how to maneuver through this blogging streets, this article is for you.
Howdy howdy! Oh yes, I made the cut and got shortlisted under the New Blogger category for this years 5th Annual OLX SOMA Awards. SOMA Awards Recognizes & Rewards Brands That Use Social Media To Transform Lives and to be recognized by SOMA is like a dream come true. I’m still in awe and to be honest, it came as a surprise to me. Being nominated has just raised the bar even higher for me and motivated me to continue creating great and impactful content.
I’ve rocked this outfit a couple of times before and most of the time I got compliments like “I love your skirt” “I love your top”. For a second you might think this is a skirt and a peplum top but nope, It’s actually a vivo bodycon dress and a peplum jacket. Yass! Having pieces in my wardrobe to change up looks once in a while is quite fun and saves you a whole lot of money! Trust me. I’ve actually worn this peplum jacket differently before, you can check out this post. I love this jacket cause it gives you a professional look yet so fab. 🙂
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry or whatever. I happened to have uploaded this article on Tuesday but for some weird reason it completely vanished from my website a few days later! I was like nooooooo. I remember my friend asking me the other day, have you stopped blogging? I was like no, I actually uploaded a new post then whoop it’s not there! I must have missed on saving the article then went ahead and updated my blog. 🙁 This also takes me back to yesterday. I happened to have a very successful meeting with one of my clients only for my machine to crash and the minutes taken deleted. Sema stress! Hah!
When I began blogging, I promised myself to incorporate African prints in my outfits as much as possible and this is turning out really well. This cape jacket is definitely everything! It’ll for obvious reason not curb you from the cold but it will for sure make a statement and you’ll get all the compliments in this world. Who doesn’t love compliments? At least I do as much as sometimes I find myself shying away. Weird!
I’m so full of energy-ish this Monday. I had such an amazing weekend catching up with one of my closest friends. We had dinner at this amazing restaurant in The Westagate Mall called Tapas Ceviche. I had always wanted to visit the restaurant because I knew they serve one of the best Spanish cuisines and oh boy wasn’t it delicious! I’m definitely looking forward to going back for their Taco Tuesdays and happy hour! 😛
